About the Historic Preservation Commission
The Commission has 7 members appointed by the County Council. The Commission reviews structures and sites for historic significance and submits recommendations to the County Council for designation of these sites to the Frederick County Register of Historic Places. The HPC also reviews applications for Certificates of Approval for exterior work on properties listed on the County Register of Historic Places.
The Historic Preservation Commission meets virtually monthly on the first Wednesday at 6:30pm. The public is invited to watch the meetings live via Channels 19 or 1085 or streaming at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FCGTV.
